foils on the brain again

More and more high end sailboats are foiling.

Here's a video from the Great Cat 32 event.  The event ran with 4 pro teams and 4 amature owners.  4 boats on the water at a time and  8 teams.  A round robin format was followed to ensure everyone raced everyone else.

random sailing news

It seems that several interesting pro sailing events are reaching out and expanding their coverage.  Just this week an English speaking sailor won a race from New York to Barcelona Spain in Open 60 mono hulls.  There's a good series of videos on You Tube about the event, but here is the final one.






The production foiling catamaran is ripping up some race courses in Europe.  I wonder if one would if one would survive hitting one of the logs that litter our part of the straight of georgia?  Anyway here's a video :
